Food For Thought
}

This weekend marks the unofficial end of Summer and we’ll be sorry to see it go, which is exactly why we decided to keep our Tomato Menu! We’ve noticed the trend of pumpkin-flavored everything starting earlier and earlier each year but we’re not ready for Pumpkin. We have already had people asking us about Pumpkin Pancakes, which is understandable but we’re sticking with Lemon Poppy Seed through mid-late October this year.

This weekend also marks one of the busiest times of years for our location on the drag. Students are officially back and the first home football game of the season is tomorrow. We’ve got all hands on-deck and we’re ready for lots of smiling faces at Kerbey UT all weekend long.

We’d love to see your smiling face at any of our SIX Austin-area locations this weekend. Our latest store in West Lake Hills has only been open for a couple of weeks but we already feel at home in our new store. Kerbey Westlake is in the Village at Westlake shopping center near the intersection of Capital of Texas HWY and Bee Caves Rd. It’s open 24hrs through the weekend and 6a-11p during the week.

All six Kerbey Lane Cafe locations are serving Beignet Pancakes, Vegan Strawberry Banana Pancakes and Gluten-Free Cocoa Banana Pancakes until early Tuesday morning. Not in the mood for pancakes? That’s cool, we have lots of delicious savory items on our 24hr menu from sandwiches and salads to twists on classic favorites like Chicken Fried Chicken. Wash it all down with a $3 local draft, which is our everyday price for all Beer & Wine.

We wanted to give y’all the heads-up that next week Chef Joel is participating in the Food for Thought Benefit for Communities In Schools of Central Texas at ACL Live at The Moody Theater. Food for thought is a gourmet tasting event featuring signature dishes from Austin’s top chefs, which will take place September 4, 2014, 6:00p–9:00p. Tickets for this event range in price depending on what level you’d like to contribute. The goal of the event is to raise money for the Communities in Schools of Central Texas organization, which provides support by bringing resources and relationships to school campuses — surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

We are very excited to be involved with this event and we encourage you to attend and/or donate if you can. In the meantime, we want y’all to have a great weekend and come in to see us. Even though Monday is a holiday for most, we’re not locking our doors so feel free to let us do the cooking.
