The big day is here! Everyone’s. Favorite. Holiday. No, it’s not Easter or Valentine’s Day or Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s—it’s NATIONAL CHIPS AND DIP DAY. And whether you fancy tortilla, potato, or pita chips; salsa, guacamole, refried beans, creamy onion, or pico dip (the list goes on)—chips need dip: and that’s a fact.

While the exact origin of National Chips and Dip day is a bit flakey, many believe it to coincide with the birthday of Fannie M. Farmer. Farmer was the author of the Boston Cooking School Cook Book, which included recipes for potato balls, fritters, French fries and—you guessed it—chips.

At Kerbey Lane Cafe, we take National Chips and Dip Day very, very seriously. One special dip near and dear to our hearts is queso: Kerbey Queso, to be exact. Queso, the Spanish word for “cheese,” comes from the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua. And our famous Kerbey Queso has been a menu staple since we started flippin’ cakes and curing hangovers, way back in 1980. While the KLC queso recipe is an absolute secret (though many have tried to copy it), our menu does reveal that it’s served with guacamole, and topped with pico de gallo. Feeling wild? Try our Cowboy Queso mixed with black beans. Dietary restrictions? We’ve even got a vegan version.

In our eyes, every day at KLC is a day to celebrate chips and dip. Don’t just take our word for it:
