That’s right—you guessed it—Kerbey Lane Cafe’s seasonal Tomato Menu has finally arrived! Back by popular demand, the seasonal Tomato Menu includes some of the best elements of our spring and summer menus, all wrapped in a neat tomato bow. Starting April 22, you can indulge in KLC classics and dishes with a tomato twist—breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night.
This year’s breakfasts and small plates include: Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes, Lemon Poppy Seed French Toast, and the Lemon Poppy Seed Paris Texas Platter (seasonal French Toast served with our signature migas).
Of course, no breakfast would be complete with Paul Engel’s locally-grown Fried Green Tomatoes or a good ol’ Smoked Salmon Omelet stuffed with avocado and sautéed tomato, topped with a lemon dill cream cheese sauce, diced red onions and capers.
Ready for some breakfast benediction? Try one of three new Egg Benedicts: Smoked Salmon, Fried Green Tomato or The Godfather (piled high with ham prosciutto, tomato, poached egg and hollandaise sauce, PLUS basil pesto, sun dried tomato pesto and grilled onions).
If you’re looking for something heartier, the Tomato Menu features meals like Joel’s Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf (featuring and mixture of pork and beef), Crispy Chicken Cajun Tacos (with our famous jalapeno remoulade), and Penne Ensalata. We’ve also brought back our Chicken Fried Chicken Green Chile Mac—battered and fried to order atop a baked bed of elbow macaroni, sprinkled with a three cheese blend and green chile sauce.
Oh, and how could we forget, KLC’s one-and-only Tomato Pie, packed with fresh roasted tomatoes, green onions, fresh basil and garlic, baked to perfection in an individual crust and topped with kalamata olives and feta.
And when it comes to the seasonal Tomato Menu sandwiches, which ‘wich is right for you? We think you should come back a few times to sample all five:
Fried Green Tomato BLT: bacon, friend green tomatoes, lettuce, and chipotle aioli on fresh sourdough
Caprese Panini: Fresh mozzarella, tomato basil pesto and grilled onions on crispy panini bread
Ahogada (KLC lingo for, “you’ll need a fork and knife with that”): slow roasted Richardson Farms’ pork carnitas, Antonelli’s asadero cheese, avocado and grilled onions on panini bread—all in a bowl of tomato lime’ jus (see what we mean about fork and knife?).
The Trinity: Asadero, fontino and mozzarella cheeses with caramelized onions, sun dried tomato pesto and thinly sliced prosciutto.
Looking for something light and refreshing? Dip into a bowl of Watermelon and Tomato Gazpacho.
Only interested in satisfying your sweet tooth? Dig into a light key lime filling on a graham cracker crust—otherwise known as our Key Lime Pie.
