The Week in Kerbey
}

This week was very eventful behind the scenes at Kerbey Lane Cafe. We got a sneak-peak at some of the new entrees Chef Joel has been working on. We can’t reveal anything yet because he’s still making some tough decisions but everything that’s in the bank of possibilities is pretty great. Stay tuned for more on our enhanced entrees in the near-future.

We also have some new faces at all five Kerbey Lane locations this week. We didn’t think it would be fair to hire people and train them during ACL Festival madness but with Austin Film Festival taking place this weekend, we’re not completely letting the newbies off-the-hook.

If you’ve paid us a recent visit, you might have noticed we’re getting ready for Halloween. If you still haven’t decided on a costume, the clock is certainly ticking. We expect to see folks in costumes for about a week this year. Since Halloween is on a Thursday there will be folks celebrating both the weekend before and the weekend after. We expect many of our employees will be dressed in various forms of costume over the next week or so as well.

In the spirit of the season, let’s not forget it’s still time to eat Pumpkin Everything. Right now we have Pumpkin Mousse, Pumpkin Bread French Toast, Pumpkin Pancakes, Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and even Pumpkin Lattes at most locations. We can also add almonds, blueberries and chocolate chips to any pancake, including the Pumpkin Pancakes. If you already love Pumpkin Pancakes just wait until you have Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Pancakes.

If you’re planning to come by and eat with us this weekend, and we hope that you are, our featured pancake is Apple Pie. It’s a Buttermilk batter with graham, cinnamon, and chunks of apple inside. This week’s featured Vegan Pancake is Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll. Both of these featured pancakes are available until early Tuesday (10/29/2013) morning. Have a great weekend, we hope to see y’all soon!
