This Week at Kerbey Lane Cafe
}

It’s Friday, did y’all have a nice weekend? We’ve been baking in the Texas summer sun, thinking about going back to school but hanging on to Summer for as long as we can. It’s been another fun week at Kerbey Lane Cafe. The neighborhood grackles at our S. Lamar location are pretty bummed this week, as we’ve started keeping the sugar for outside in sealable containers. The days of free Sugar in the Raw are over for our brilliant bird friends. Our staff at S. Lamar presumes the grackles will learn to open/break the containers to get at the sugar any day now.

Our Northwest location hosted the monthly Social Media Breakfast this week, where the topic was wearable-tech. It sounds intimidating but chances are you’ve already worn some tech and chances are you’ll be wearing a lot more in the future. These Social Media Breakfast meetings are free and open to the public but you do have to reserve your spot with a free Eventbrite ticket so keep an eye on their website if you’d like to attend next month’s meeting.

This week we had the opportunity to follow our canned-food donations, which we collected throughout the month of July, to the Capital Area Food Bank. A group of volunteers from our five locations, commissary and office met up with our friends at CAFB headquarters to help sort donations to distribute to hungry people throughout Central Texas. If you missed out on our donation drive in July, don’t worry you can still donate directly to CAFB and/or you can arrange for a time for you to volunteer your time if you prefer.

We’d also like to mention that you could be in a photo just like the one you see above because Kerbey Lane Cafe is hiring! We’re specifically looking for people to join our hourly management team. If you have worked in restaurants and you think you might like to be a part of our family, apply online today.

We hope y’all have a great weekend, if you’re planning to have breakfast with us between now and Tuesday morning, we’re featuring Key Lime Pie pancakes and Vegan Beignet pancakes. See you soon!
