This Week in Kerbey

It was a hot week here in Austin. We made it through a big chunk of Summer before the temperatures hit 100 but that all ended this week. Our own Chef Joel braved the hit this week to give a cooking demonstration at the SFC Farmer’s Market at the Triangle. He wisely chose to demonstrate his Watermelon Tomato Gazpacho recipe, which is perhaps the most refreshing soup of the Summer. If you couldn’t make it out to the demonstration, don’t worry the recipe is posted on online.
Chef Joel will be back out in the community next month to participate in the Austin Zoo Recovery Event. On Sunday, August 10th enjoy a family afternoon of music, food and beer for a great cause. Help us raise money for the Austin Zoo to recover from the robbery and vandalism they suffered on July 3rd.
Our newest Kerbey Lane Cafe location in Westlake is still on target to open next month and we couldn’t be more excited. It may look like there is still a lot of work left to do but it’s truly all just finishing details. The structure of the new store is complete, the tile is done as well. As you can see in the photos, it’s really starting to look like Kerbey Lane!
Have y’all met any of our newest team members at our other locations? The majority of our front-of-house staff is going through training for Kerbey Westlake at our south stores right now. If you see a new face, be sure to say hello.
This weekend our featured pancake flavors are S’mores, Vegan Strawberry-Banana & Gluten-Free Apple Cinnamon. Whatever your plans are for the weekend, we’d love for you to include us. Feel free to stop by for a meal, a snack or just to say hello. Have a great weekend y’all!
