This Week in Kerbey
}

This week at Kerbey Lane we have all been recovering from two week’s worth of ACL Festival. As you probably know, the final day of the festival was cancelled after Saturday night’s torrential downpours flooded our beloved Zilker Park. There were many disappointed festival goers but most people took it all in stride. Our S. Lamar location is only a couple of miles from the heart of the festival and it was flooded with people.

By all accounts, it was the busiest shift that store had ever seen. There was at least an hour long wait for a table throughout most of Sunday morning and into late Sunday afternoon. We want to thank everyone who came in, stuck out the wait and enjoyed some food with us. It can be stressful when the restaurant is packed to the gills but it can also create a really fun energy. Even though people had to wait and they were bummed to not be catching another day of live music the festival’s communal spirit carried over.

As far as we’re concerned making ACL Festival a two weekend event worked out really well for our business and our staff. We’re looking forward to the festival’s return next year. In the meantime, we’re looking forward to Austin Film Fest and FunFunFun Fest. Both of those events always bring in lots of people and we always enjoy seeing faces both new and familiar. Of course, this is Austin so there are all kinds of fun events happening every day of the week.

Are y’all doing anything fun this weekend? You should let us do some cooking for you. If you’re coming in for dinner be sure to check out our Chicken Fried Steak. It was so popular as a seasonal menu item, we decided to add it to our year-round menu. We’re also really loving Chef Joel’s Brisket Sliders from the Fall Menu.

Whether you stop by in the middle of the night, the middle of the day or any time in between we’ll be serving Peanut Butter-Banana Pancakes topped with Nutella. This week’s Vegan pancake is Vegan Caramel Apple. We’re also still selling Pink Pancakes, the proceeds for which benefit the Breast Cancer Resources Centers of Texas.

We also wanted to remind y’all that even though we’re not serving Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes this time of year, we still have the Lemon Poppyseed Pancake Mix available at any of our five Austin locations. Have a great weekend y’all!
