This Week in Kerbey

This first week in December started with some unusually warm weather and some unusually slow business. Of course neither of those things remained true through the rest of the week. As of the writing of this post it’s in the 30’s and we’re selling the Hot Cocoa, Hot Apple Cider and Coffee drinks to prove it.
If you’ve stopped by within the last week or two you may have noticed a subtle change at your table. As you all know, we strive to offer natural products whenever possible. Obviously, not everything in our restaurants is all-natural and for years the ketchup on the tables was a prime example. We have been serving the same name-brand ketchup product pretty much since we opened. We didn’t really think too much of it but we received several requests for an all-natural ketchup within one week and we decided to re-evaluate things.
Now when you stop by any of our five Kerbey Lane Cafe locations you’ll notice that we only offer all-natural ketchup, free of high fructose corn syrup. It’s no longer a name-brand ketchup, it’s actually Kerbey Lane Cafe brand! How cool is that? We know it’s not really that big of a deal but we were so excited to see the bottles with our name on them.
Speaking of Kerbey Lane Cafe branded products, the holidays are just around the corner and we know there is someone in your life who would love to receive some Kerbey Lane Pancake Mix. You can grab some at any of our five locations but you’ll also find our mixes at your local HEB, Central Market, Whole Foods or even Costco. If you’re not in Austin, or maybe the mix is for someone who is not in Austin, we recommend you buy the mix from Amazon. It’s a lot easier to let Amazon send the mix to your friends rather than making a trip to the Post Office.
Y’all be sure to bundle up this weekend, it’s going to stay pretty cold. If you’re stopping by to see us we’ll be serving Vegan Vanilla pancakes as well as Rocky Road Pancakes. Be sure to check out the expanded entree section in our 24hr menu as well. See y’all soon!
