This Week in Kerbey
}

This week felt like the first week of the year. We know that we already have ten days worth of 2014 under our belts but the year doesn’t really start until the first Monday. This week we saw the return of students, we welcomed back the various groups whose meetings were on a holiday hiatus and generally got our grooves back. The holidays are a wonderful time to spend with friends and family but when routine is returned that can also be a wonderful time.

We’re not sure if you knew this already but Elvis Presley’s birthday was this week, which is part of the reason we brought back Elvis Pancakes this week. There are so many things that are a part of the king’s legacy but who could forget those fried peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwiches? We certainly couldn’t, which is why this week’s featured pancake is a buttermilk batter with bananas and bacon inside, topped with a peanut butter sauce.

Vegans and non-vegans alike have been shouting the praises of this week’s featured vegan pancake. It’s a Vegan Pumpkin Pancake with a brown sugar, cinnamon swirl. That’s right it’s our famous (or infamous) Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Pancake and it’s only available for a few more days.

Our featured pancakes stick around for roughly a week. Each store makes the new featured pancake batter on Tuesdays. That means Monday is really your last day with each week’s featured pancake. With the Vegan pancakes we alternate between a fun flavor and a plain flavor every other week. Since this week’s featured vegan flavor is Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll next week’s featured flavor will be Vegan Vanilla.

It may be a bit misleading given how much we talk about our pancakes but Kerbey Lane Cafe is so much more than breakfast foods. Obviously you already know about Kerbey Queso as well but did you know that you can get Cochinita Pibil, Chicken-Fried Chicken, and Orange-Thyme Braised Short Ribs 24 hours a day at any of our five Austin locations? Those are just a few of the entrees listed under the Kerbey Creations heading on our menu.
