This Week in Kerbey

This week was a productive week for us at Kerbey Lane Cafe. Preparations for our new home in the Village at Westlake shopping center are underway. It’s hard to believe but by this time next month, we’ll be in our newest store! This week the construction moved to the details phase. The bar has been tiled, the floors are complete, the dry wall is done. We still have to install booths and fixtures but we’re getting close.
Construction is only one part of moving in to a new location though. We also need people to work at our newest store, which is why we conducted another hiring event this week. We are training brand-new team members to work in our brand-new location as we speak and we added about thirty new faces to the team.
Speaking of the team, this week several of our team members spent time at El Buen Pastor Early Childhood Development Center where they volunteered to help improve the grounds. This project is part of an on-going volunteer effort, which we coordinated with United Way of Central Texas. Our volunteers will go back to El Buen once a month to work on various improvement projects for the school.
It’s easy for you to give back to the community when you eat at Kerbey Lane in the month of July. That’s because all month long we are doing a cash and can drive for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. For every 2 canned goods you bring as a donation for CAFB, we’ll take $1 off your bill up to $5 off. Not interested in donating cans? That’s alright because we are also accepting cash donations. Just let your server know.
If you’re planning to stop by with some cans this weekend, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ll be serving S’mores pancakes all weekend long. This week’s featured vegan pancake is Vegan Vanilla and our featured gluten-free pancake is Gluten-Free Gingerbread.
Whatever you have planned for your weekend, we’d love to see you.
