United Way of Austin and Kerbey Lane Cafe
}

Kerbey Lane Cafe is, and always has been, a very proud supporter of the community we call home. Throughout the years we have worked with a number of excellent civic and charitable organizations. We have donated, time, food, money, meeting spaces and we have encouraged our employees or customers to do the same. In the early years it was a very casual process. If we encountered a cause or organization that we felt passionately about, we did what we could to help. As the years have progressed, our business and our community have both grown and the charitable process has become a bit more complicated.

We decided that the best way to give back to our community was to partner with an organization whose business is charity. That’s where the United Way of Austin comes in. We have been working with the local chapter of the United Way to help us partner with charitable organizations that focus on the same objectives that we are focused on.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, United Way is a non-profit organization that works with more than 1,200 local United Way offices throughout the country in a coalition of charitable organizations to pool efforts in fundraising and support. Our philanthropic focus for the future will be in Community Education initiatives like Early Childhood Development and Target Graduation. United Way will help us to target our charitable contributions to local partners who are also focused on these initiatives. In addition to our work with United Way, we will continue to work with food-related charities and organizations we’ve always worked with, such as the Capital Area Food Bank.

We couldn’t do any of this if it weren’t for you though. We are so appreciative of this great city and all of the people who have continued to support us throughout the years. The loyalty and generosity of our customers is what makes all of this possible and we’re so happy to have teamed up with United Way of Austin to help us properly pay it forward. Thank you Austin!
